The latest business reopenings per Governor Walz’s January 6th announcement
Following is a brief synopsis of today’s announcement related to reopening Minnesota businesses and easing several restrictions that are currently in place. The following will go into effect on Monday, January 11.
Private social gatherings (no changes)
- Indoor gatherings limited to 10 max from 2 households
- Outdoor gatherings limited to 15 max from 3 households
Restaurants and bars
- Indoor dining reopened at 50% capacity (150 max indoors, 150 max outdoors)
- Limit of 6 per table
- Bar seating now allowed in groups of 2
- Mandatory closing time of 10 p.m.
Gyms and fitness studios
- Capacity remains at 25% capacity, 150 max
- Classes resume up to 25 max
- 9 feet social distancing required instead of current 12 feet
- Masks required
Pools
- Reopened at 25% capacity, 150 max
Outdoor event venues
- Reopened at 25% capacity, 250 max
Indoor event venues (theatres, bowling alleys, etc.)
- Reopened at 25% capacity, 150 max
- No food and alcohol allowed after 10 p.m.
Weddings and funerals
- Ceremonies must follow guidance based on type of venue (150 or 250 max)
- Receptions serving food/drink are limited to private gathering rules (10 or 15 max)
Religious gatherings
- Expanded to 50% capacity with no max
Organized sports
- Games allowed on January 14
- Spectators allowed at venues per guidelines above
- Interstate or inter-regional games discouraged
