A Voice for Business

Government Affairs

Government Affairs

As the Brainerd Lakes Area’s voice of business, the Chamber champions pro-business policy at all levels of government. We work hard to build relationships and engage our members on issues that matter. Although we often organize candidate forums and voter education efforts, our Chamber does not promote political parties or endorse candidates. Instead, we take positions on non-partisan issues that sustain a strong economic climate for our members and their employees.

We are a member of the US Chamber and Minnesota Chamber Federation, a grassroots network of chambers throughout the state. Together with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, we help to build a state policy agenda with annual legislative priorities.

This work is guided by our Government Affairs Committee, which is appointed by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The Government Affairs Committee researches issues, recommends positions to the board, educates members, and advocates on behalf of our business community. Special thanks to these very passionate and committed volunteers!
