Please consider joining me in asking our Baxter City Council to advocate for a better design solution for the highways 210/371 interchange.
The design that MnDOT has identified as final will be confusing to motorists and will encourage them to drive past Baxter without stopping. I believe we can do better.
I believe we can go back to the drawing board, identify a solution that is both safer and less confusing, and good for our local businesses.
There are other options that will increase safety, keep visibility and ease of access to our business community. The MnDOT project team chose the design that will move traffic the fastest through our city. What if we considered an option that reduced the speed limit in that area?
We don’t want a bypass. We love our local businesses. They provide jobs to us, our family members and our neighbors. They generously support our local non-profit community and youth sports teams.
A vibrant community includes a healthy business community. City of Baxter Council members, please ask for a solution that will enhance our great area, not encourage folks to drive past it at 60 mph.
