President, Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce

Matt Kilian is the president of the Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce, which operates the Pequot Lakes and Crosslake Chambers along with the Explore Brainerd Lakes Welcome Center. Together, they form one of Minnesota’s largest chambers, representing more than 1,100 members. Matt has a strong background in rural economic development, marketing and philanthropy, having spent 15 years with the Minnesota Initiative Foundations, most recently serving as Vice President of the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls.

He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mass Communications from St. Cloud State University and is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Organization Management (IOM) at the University of Arizona. Matt is actively involved in the community, serving on the boards of the Bush Foundation, WonderTrek Children’s Museum, Central Lakes College Advisory Council, Crow Wing Power Community Trust, and the Lakes Area Music Festival. He lives in Nisswa with his wife, Jeanne, a special education teacher at Brainerd Public Schools.
