The crowning glory for the Celebration of Excellence will be the presentation of the Business Legacy Award by the Brainerd Lakes Chamber and RiverWood Bank to Bob Spizzo! Developer, visionary and owner of Breezy Point Resort, Bob Spizzo began his journey in 1977. Bob joined Whitebirch, Inc. as a sales person to develop and market 3,000 residential acres surrounding Breezy Point Resort. It was his drive, determination and commitment that presented him the opportunity to go from sales to ownership of the resort in 1981.

Bob made a dream a reality by building an indoor ice arena in Breezy Point to fill rooms during the long winter months and year round. His dream was progressive and many obstacles had to be overcome, but his determination is applauded throughout the resort industry and state.

Under Bob’s leadership, Breezy Point Resort is the home of 750 campsites, 257 timeshare units, convention facility, 120 room hotel, 5 restaurants, 3 indoor pools, three 18 hole golf courses, indoor ice arena, medical clinic, and a 74 unit townhome project. Bob contributes his success to his ‘team’ of 550 employees, some of which have been with Breezy Point Resort for 20 to 65 years!
