Strong Principled Advocate
COVID-19 has changed our goals and priorities from just a few months ago. We went from a recordbreaking economy to a shut down. My priority will be helping our businesses survive, rebuild, thrive and most importantly, assuring our businesses have the tools and resources needed to succeed.
Our business community has been exceptional in communicating with me – they visit the capitol individually and in groups and reach out frequently with questions, suggestions and issues. I truly feel free calling on our business community for input. I look forward to continuing the great relationships we have built.
During this pandemic our success has been the strength of this fantastic community. Every week the Brainerd Chamber hosted a phone call with leaders representing all aspects of our community – the discussion covered the entire district and everyone stepped up to help in whatever capacity was necessary.
I work hard to represent all aspects of our community. We have an incredibly diverse economy – from manufacturing, farming, recreation/tourism and education. As Chair of the Minnesota Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee, I work hard to ensure clean water is a priority – our economy depends on it.
Compassionate, Patient, Thoughtful
Make sure our Business community has everything they need to succeed. A strong working infrastructure, as well as reliable broadband. Well educated and trained workforce in a healthy environment. Workforce housing, developed for the working families of our community.
By having an open door and being available to our business leaders.
An example of great success for encouraging business is the Paul Bunyan trail. We need more projects of that nature in this highly competitive market.
I will work for all the people of our district. Putting our district first over the needs of the Twin Cities.
