The Brainerd Lakes Chamber is the official resource for visitor information in the region.

Through the www.explorebrainerdlakes.com website, the area is promoted to visitors and future residents. Members can link to various sections of the site to enhance the content of their websites. A comprehensive calendar of events, specials at businesses, member business directory, and advertising opportunities are featured.

Public relations efforts are used extensively by the Chamber to promote the region. The initiatives include contacts with media for exposure in print, radio, television, and web, as well as social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. Become a fan of ExploreBrainerdLakes on Facebook.

Almost 200,000 visitors are served in person at four locations in the region. The Chamber’s Welcome Center on Highway 371 south of Brainerd/Baxter, is a joint partnership of the Chamber and Mn/DOT. A gift shop featuring local products helps financially support the operating costs. Visitor inquiries also are received by phone or email and professional staff respond.

Chamber lodging members receive an email with an instant lead from a consumer seeking lodging information.

The Chamber’s tourism marketing funds are generated through advertising sales on the website and the annual Brainerd Lakes Visitors’ Guide publication. The funds raised directly support the Chamber’s tourism marketing efforts; all staff and office operational costs are paid from the Chamber’s general fund. In the past year, about $100,000 was raised and spent to market the Brainerd Lakes region.
