About This Session:

We are facing unprecedented times.  As a business owner you are managing the changing landscape, anticipating the impact on your business and trying to make the best decisions for your business, your employees, and you.

In this session we will:
·        Provide guidance in communicating to employees;
·        Answer questions related to your business and employee response to COVID19;
·        Discuss alternatives and considerations for businesses to determine their response to the changing environment
·        Share responses and actions taken by other businesses.

Please send any current questions regarding your business's response to COVID19 to Paula Chapulis (blueox@brainerdlakeschamber.com) at the Chamber.  Although we will be answering questions throughout the session, any questions sent prior will help us prepare for the session.

Be sure to use a laptop or computer with a camera.  You can also download the Zoom app on your phone or tablet and enter the meeting number.  If you don’t have any other option, you can also call in from your phone at the following number (number to follow).  Log in a little early if you've never used Zoom so we can trouble shoot any issues prior to the start of class.

About the Speakers:

Kristen Ireland, Principal with People Spark Consulting truly believes that people are an organization's most valuable resources - if you want to succeed in business, the  focus needs to be on the business strategies and how to engage employees to advance those strategies. This does not mean implementing a lot of processes - but rather finding innovative and simple solutions to focus and engage employees. As a consultant and coach, Kristen focuses on understanding the business and ensuring it achieves its goals by aligning the culture, leadership, people and processes with business strategies. She is a thoughtful, innovative and strategic problem solver who believes it is critical to listen before providing a solution. To be effective, solutions must be tailored to the needs and simple. She has earned the reputation for being a compassionate change agent that can influence behaviors needed for organizations to be successful.

Kristen has more than 20 years' experience consulting and coaching executives, leaders and managers in both for profit and not for profit sectors, both domestically and internationally. In addition, to her work experience, she has earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and Global Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute, and a certified Change Practitioner from PROSCI.

Erin Mies, Principal of People Spark Consulting is interested in finding simplicity to drive her work. In each of her roles, both in the U.S. and outside, the people and organization challenges facing businesses do not require another form or overly complicated process. Instead, it takes understanding and dissecting to uncover root issues and solve them – for good. She loves  exploring, innovating, and challenging the status quo to find the best solution for each client she serves.  With her clients, she has earned a reputation for understanding a business’s needs and finding creative, practical solutions to move forward. Her approach is both straightforward and respectful, providing guidance and considerations to enable your own leadership effectiveness to improve.

Erin's 15 years of experience have involved coaching and consulting executives, leaders and managers in food and agricultural industries, in both manufacturing and corporate environments. She also has specialist experience in talent acquisition and international HR. In addition to her professional experience, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Music from Wittenberg University (Ohio), and a Master of Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
