4 Places to Watch Fireworks Around the Brainerd Lakes

We are Lakes Proud.

Brainerd Lakes Chamber

While this year’s Independence Day will look a little different, you’ll find that fireworks displays are still happening around the Lakes Area.  With social distancing, watching fireworks light up the night sky is still a festive and safe way to celebrate.

Places to See Fireworks

#1 – Brainerd

The Brainerd fireworks are a go and will be on July 4 around 10:00 p.m. Brainerd Community Action will be launching fireworks from a slightly different location. With the extensive construction at the Brainerd Lakes High School and the limitations on large gatherings, watching the fireworks from the high school hill and the lower site will not be available. If you’ve watched the fireworks from another location other than the high school, you’ll have no problem viewing them again this year.

#2 – Crosslake

2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the Crosslake fireworks display. Fireworks will be launched from Sand Island on July 4 around dusk (10 p.m.). You can see the show from the shores of Cross Lake. Tune into 101.5 FM for choreographed music to the display.

#3 – Pequot Lakes

The annual fireworks display is on for July 3. You can view the show from about anywhere in Pequot Lakes with Trailside Park being a perfect viewing spot. You’re encouraged to watch from your car. Or if you’re out in the park, be mindful and social distance from other spectators.

#4 – Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge

The Bay Lake fireworks will be at dusk on July 4. To comply with the state’s restrictions on large gatherings, the public isn’t permitted on the grounds at Ruttger’s to watch the show. Fireworks will take place at an undisclosed location (mid-lake), not from the Ruttger’s shoreline. You can watch the show from your car throughout north end of Bay Lake.
