2021 Eggs & Issues Teleconference with State Legislators
Friday, February 19, 2021 | 9:30-11:00 AM
Connect with area legislators from the comfort of your own office and get up to date on the most important issues facing our business community. The 2021 legislative session is critical as state leaders navigate the COVID crisis, debate business relief and reopening, and address a $1.3 billion budget deficit. Other publicized issues include the Governor’s emergency powers, California car emissions standards, and legalized marijuana.
Come ready to ask questions and learn more about our legislative priorities, which are shared by more than 40 Chambers of Commerce statewide.

ACTION ALERT:
PPP Taxability
Unless the state legislature conforms to federal laws, Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans will be subject to Minnesota income taxes. More than 100,000 statewide businesses, including about two-thirds of our members, received forgivable PPP loans last year. The intent of this program was to save businesses and jobs, and it is disturbing that unexpected state tax burdens could be as high as 9.85% depending on individual rates. Our representatives are already working on this issue, but a quick fix is needed.
